01 - In a small saucepan, combine the milk with sugar or honey.
02 - Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly until the sweetener dissolves and milk is steaming but not boiling, about 5 to 7 minutes.
03 - Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Add cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
04 - For extra creaminess, froth the milk using a milk frother or whisk vigorously until frothy.
05 - Pour into mugs and serve hot, or refrigerate and serve over ice for a chilled option.
